David Dale Mixon

Mr. Dale Mixon, age 74 of Pearson, Ga. passed away Tuesday, August 04, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Ga. following an extended illness. A native of Atkinson County, Mr. Mixon was born May 6, l941, son of Jesse Enoch and Hazel Wilson Mixon. He was a l959 graduate of Atkinson County High School. He worked for many companies as Plant Manager, including Pearson Bag Co., Cady Bag Co., Bradford Homes, Shoe Factory in Pearson and his last employment until his retirement was Plant Manager at Pak Unlimited in Willacoochee, Ga.. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Pearson but attended Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include: Wife: Linda Gail Mixon of Pearson, Ga. 1 Son: David Alton Mixon and wife Jennifer of Valdosta, Ga. 2 Daughters: Debra Lynn Walker and husband LaDon of Douglas, Ga. Dina Mills Neugent and husband Jay of Douglas, Ga. 1 Brother: James Mixon and wife Francis of Folkston, Ga. 4 Sisters: Lois Gibson of Cocoa, Fl. Atlas Wyatt of Waycross, Ga. Syble Hutson of Pearson, Ga. Christine Barlow and husband Donald of St. Mary's, Ga. 5 Grandchildren: Kayla Mixon, Tyler Mixon, Bryce Mixon, Shelby Mixon, and Conner Mills Several Nieces, Nephews, and other Relatives also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Mixon were held Thursday, August 06, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Johnson and Rev. Don Harper officiating. Special musical selections included "God on the Mountain" and "One More Valley" rendered by Mitchell Deems and Tommy and Lila Deems with Mitchell Deems accompanying at the piano. Soft music for the Prelude and the Postlude was played by Lila Deems, pianist. The interment followed in Antioch Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were: Randy Barlow, Doug Gibson, Billy Wyatt, Curtis Mixon, Larry Edward Benton and Ronnie Gibson. Honorary pallbearers were: Wade Brown, James Joyce, Julian Haskins, Allen Vickers, James Gore, Stanley Purvis, David Moore, Charlie Bray, Bartley Neugent, Johnny Tanner, Randy Tucker and Robert Summmerlin.
