Mrs. Allene Kirkland Gore, age 78 of Pearson, Ga. passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015 at her home in Pearson, Ga. after a short illness. A native of Atkinson County, Mrs. Gore was born October l9, l936, daughter of the late Grover and Lila Goodman Kirkland. She made her home in Pearson and was a homemaker. She attended Christian Fellowship Church. She was preceded in death by her husband James Parley Gore, Sr. and a brother Lawrence Kirkley. Survivors include: 2 Sons: James Parley Gore, Jr. and wife Sandra of Pearson, Ga. Greg Gore of Douglas, Ga. 3 Grandchildren: Brandi Forsyth and husband Jake, Maya Gore and Nicholas Gore 2 Great Grandchildren: Hunter Forsyth and Mattie Forsyth Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Gore were held Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. David Akins and Mr. John Sweat officiating. Special musical selections included "If You Only Knew" and "I Want to Stroll over Heaven with You" rendered by Elaine Akins, Randy Sirmans, Julian Haskins and Ricky Sirmans with Elaine Akins accompanying at the piano. "Amazing Grace" was sung by the attending congregation with Elaine Akins at the piano. Soft music for the Prelude and the Postlude was played by Elaine Akins pianist. The interment followed in Antioch Church Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers: Steve Brown, Brett Daniels, Ben Daniels, Donald Barlow, Randy Barlow, Wade Spivey, Bill Sirmans and Ray Mullis. Honorary pallbearers were: Chester and Sue Brown, Sandra Pittman, Louis and Laveritt Spivey, Lorene Morris, Christine Barlow, Julian and Lawana Haskins, Jackie Wilson, Neal and Laurelle Gillis, Ron and Alice Daniels, Revis and Peggy Kyser, Syble Mitchell, Leroy Broussard, L. G. and Betty Smith, John and Carol Sweat, and Hinky and Shirley Mathews.
