Mr. Carlton Robert Taft, age 30 of Pearson, Ga. passed away Monday, August 17, 2015. Born February l8, l985, in Coffee County, Carlton was the son of Regina Davis Lancos and J. R. Taft. He lived most of his life in Atkinson County. He was a 2003 Graduate of Atkinson County High School, a 2007 Magna Cum Laude Graduate of Columbus St. in Columbus, Ga. and a 20ll Graduate of Faulkner Law School in Montgomery, Al.. He was currently working at Walmart Distribution Center in Douglas, Ga.. He attended Ozias Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include: Mother: Regina Davis Lancos and step-father Joey of Moultrie, Ga. Father: J.R. Taft and step-mother Debbie of Burlington, N. C. Maternal Grandparents: Edwin, Sr. and Janice Davis of Pearson, Ga. Paternal Grandmother: Dorothy Taft of Pearson, Ga. Aunts & Uncles: Jesse and Tracy Mizell of Axson, Ga. Edwin, Jr. and Melissa Davis of Jesup, Ga. Gary and Wylene Vickers of Axson, Ga. Pat and Joey Sirmans of Macon, Ga. Janice and Dougie McKinnon of Pearson, Ga. Special Cousin: Brett Mizell and wife Candace 4 Step-Sisters: April Wise and husband Gary of Brunswick, Ga. Ashley Saunders and husband Michael of Brunswick, Ga. Sara Taft of Burlington, N. C. Becky Davis and husband Lester of Pearson, Ga. 3 Step-Brothers: Bo Tromp of Colorado City, Tx. John Courson and wife Michelle of Pearson, Ga. Jayme Courson of Lakeland, Ga. Several cousins and other relatives also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Taft were held Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Relihan Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Graveside services and interment followed at 11:30 A. M. in Sweetwater Cemetery with Carlton's uncle, Dr. Edwin Fain Davis, Jr., giving the eulogy and closing prayer by Rev. Larry Johnson. Serving as active pallbearerswere: Marshall Mizell, Tyler Mizell, Cole Davis, Keith Disharoom, Jesse Martinez, and Greg Vickers. Serving as honorary pallbearers were: Brett Mizell, Jimmy Davis, Chris Davis, Dale Spivey, Nicole Clements, John Courson, Jayme Courson, Becky Davis, and Sydney Mizell.
