Jerry Alan Harper

Mr. Jerry Alan Harper, age 68 of Willacoochee, Ga. passed away Monday, October 05, 2015 at Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, Ga. following an extended illness. A native of Los Angeles, Ca., Mr. Harper was born May 02, 1947, son of Lester and Arline Robinson Harper. He retired from the U. S. Army after serving 30 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Army he worked for the Veterans Administration for several years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Kelly Harper. Survivors include: Wife: Sylvia Crews Harper of Willacoochee, Ga. 2 Daughters: Janice Alavrez of Riverside, Ca. Jennifer Zamor of San Bernardino, Ca. Step-Son: Chip Townsend of Douglas, Ga. 3 Sisters: Janice Cox of Phoenix, Az. Linda Reece of Topock, Az. Sandy Schrey of Valencia, Ca. 5 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild, and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. Memorial services for Mr. Harper were held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at The Church of God in Millwood, Ga. with Rev. Shelton Cox officiating.
