Mrs. Katie Lee Parker, age 74 of Axson, Ga. passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015 at her home in Axson, Ga.. A native of Live Oak, Fl., Mrs. Parker was born October l0, l941, daughter of Rufus and Doris Jenkins Murray. She was a homemaker and had made her home in Atkinson County for most of her life. She was a member of Cornerstone Church in Pearson, Ga.. Survivors include: Son: Robert Parker and wife Meg of Silver Spring, Md. Daughter: Joyce Parker of Axson, Ga. Brother: Kenneth Murray of Adel, Ga. 3 Sisters: Betty Anderson of Willacoochee, Ga. Marvie Reliford of Broxton, Ga. Elizabeth Blackmon of Winter Haven, Fl. 2 Grandchildren: Joseph and Katelin Parker Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Parker were held Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Cornerstone Church with Rev. Allen Arowood officiating. Special music included “Amazing Grace” rendered by the attending congregation with Francine Fender accompanying on the piano. Soft music for the Prelude and the Postlude was by Francine Fender pianist. The interment followed in Union Hill Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were: Richard Anderson, J. W. Anderson, Eddie Cribb, Emanuel Tanner, Lewis Anderson, and Glenn McDuffie. Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
