Elmon Stone

  Mr. Elmon Stone, age 80 of Pearson, Ga. passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga. following a short illness.   A native of Atkinson County, Mr. Stone was born April 27, 1935, son of Marvin and Martha Isabell Brown Stone. He worked for many years in agriculture and the Atkinson County BOE Transportation Department. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Stephens Stone.   Survivors include: Daughter: Alisha Stone Cross of Pearson, Ga. Step-Son:  Gene Sizemore and wife Mary of Pearson, Ga.   Sister:  Alice Stone Gilbert of Pearson, Ga. 2 Grandchildren: Marti Crosby and husband Eddie of Pearson, Ga.                              Will Fain of Pearson, Ga.   1 Great-Grandchild: Leigha Grace Crosby Special-Niece:  Gail Cox and husband George of Pearson, Ga.   Nephews and other relatives also survive.   Graveside services for Mr. Stone were held Friday, March 11, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery with Rev. Charles Brown officiating. The interment followed in Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery.   Serving as active Pallbearers were: Nipper Gillis, Tom Youngblood, Lige Gillis, Davis Gillis, Will Fain, and Vic DeJaynes.   Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
