Sarah Boone Stanford

March 12, 1933 — August 3, 2016

  Mrs. Sarah Boone Stanford, age 83 of Pearson, Ga. passed away Wednesday, August 03, 2016 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga. after an extended illness.       A native of TyTy, Ga., Mrs. Stanford was born March 12, 1933, daughter of Warren Hobart and Christine Starley Willis. She had made her home in Miami Fl. for many years before moving to Atkinson County in 1970.  While living in Miami she worked for Sunnyland Training Center and after moving back to Atkinson County , she worked for Concerted Services of Atkinson County. She was a member of Union Hill Congregational Christian Church. In Addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her 1st husband Mr. Charlie Boone and 2nd husband Mr. Joseph Marion “Sonny” Stanford.   Survivors include: 2 Sons: Darrell Boone of Hollywood, Fl.             Gary Boone of Cooper City, Fl.   Several Nieces, Nephews, and other relatives also survive.    Graveside services for Mrs. Stanford were held on Saturday, August 06, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Union Hill Cemetery with Rev. Joe Thigpen officiating. Special music included “Amazing Grace” and “What A Day That Will Be” rendered acapella by soloist Glenda Lang. The interment followed in the Union Hill Cemetery.   Serving as active pallbearers were: Brad Boone, Darian Boone, Mitchell Boone, Tavin Boone, Kent Dobbins, and Barry Lang.   Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
