Mrs. Hazel Margaret Davis, age 87 of Willacoochee, Ga. passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at her home in Willacoochee, Ga. following an extended illness. A native of Atkinson County, Mrs. Davis was born June 13, l929, daughter of Archie Thomas and Mary Bell Steverson Miller. She was a homemaker and for many years she provided a day nursery in her home to keep children for working parents in the Willacoochee area. She loved to work in her yard and was especially proud of her flowers. She was a member of the Willacoochee United Methodist Church but she also attended the Willacoochee Church of God. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jim Davis, sons James M. (Ross) Davis and Archie T. (Petey) Davis, sisters Lena M. Guess and Agnes M Dyess and brothers Grady Miller, Ike D. Miller, John A. Miller, Archie T. Miller, Jr., and Thomas W. (Tommy) Miller. Survivors include: 2 Daughters: Mary Johnson and husband Jimmy of Waycross, Ga. Brenda Davis of Willacoochee, Ga. Sister: Shirley Sumner and husband Hilsman of Ellenton, Ga. Daughter-In-Law: Mary Ann Davis of Waverly, Ga. Caregiver: Rebecca Patton of Tifton, Ga. 6 Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren, 2 Great-great Grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Davis were held Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. with Rev. Bill Stuckey and Rev. Danny Callahan officiating. Special musical selections included “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus” and “Softly and Tenderly Jesus is Calling” rendered by cd. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was by cd. The internment followed in the Willacoochee City Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were: Keith Guess, Allen Guess, Joe Davis, Tommy Maine, James Sears and Will Sears. Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
