Mr. Revis Lott Giddens, age 91 of Pearson, Ga. passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga. following a short illness. Born July l7, l925 in Atkinson County, Mr. Giddens was the son of William and Clara Vickers Giddens. He lived most of his life in Atkinson County. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II serving in the 1st Calvary Division. After the war he went to work with Union Camp, working there for 27 years before retiring. At an early age he developed a lifelong love for fox hunting and fishing. He loved the outdoors and even in his later years, if you rode by his house you would see him outside working in his garden or flower beds. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Pearson Ward. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sonja Crosby Giddens and a grandson, McKay Youngblood. Survivors include: 2 Daughters: Dawn Youngblood and partner Refugia “Cuku” Garcia of Pearson, Ga. Em’Starr Cribbs and husband Ronnie of Pearson, Ga. 3 Grandchildren: Nicole Clement and husband James Candace Bennett and husband Cory Masin Cribbs 8 Great Grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Giddens were held on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Pearson, Ga. with Bishop Tim Cecil and Bishop Steve Sirmans officiating. The Eulogy was given by Mr. Giddens Son- in- law, Ronald L. Cribbs. Special music included “Abide With Me” rendered by Angie Odum, soloist with Ellen Hardee accompanying at the piano and “How Great Thou Art” by the attending congregation with Ellen Hardee accompanying at the piano. Soft Prelude and Postlude music was by Ellen Hardee pianist. The interment followed in Carver Church Cemetery in Coffee County with the dedication of the grave by Bishop Dan Vickers. Serving as active pallbearers were: Cory Bennett, James Clement, Masin Cribbs, Wayne Giddens, Lewis Harrell and David Moore. Honorary pallbearers were nieces and nephews of Mr. Giddens. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
