Wayne Locke

Mr. Wayne Locke, age 64 of Pearson, Ga. passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga. after a brief illness.   A native of Columbus, Ga., Mr. Locke was born June l1, l952, son of Royce Stephen and Mary Ellen Saunders Locke. He had made his home in Ocala, Fl. for many years before moving to Kirkland, Ga. 10 years ago to help with his mother who was in poor health.   He worked as a salesman and grounds keeper before retiring and enjoyed sports, bass fishing and music. He also played the harmonica. He attended Kirkland United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ellen Saunders Locke.   Survivors include: Father: Royce Stephen Locke of Ocala, Fl.   Aunt & Uncle: Barbara Nell Dell and husband Jimmy of Pearson, Ga.   Cousin: Jason Dell of Pearson, Ga.   Several other relatives also survive.   Graveside services for Mr. Locke were held Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Kirkland United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Elvin East and Rev. Frank Littleton officiating. Special music was “Go Rest High on that Mountain” and “Amazing Grace” by cd music .The interment followed in the Kirkland United Methodist Church Cemetery.   Serving as active pallbearers were: Jerry Dell, Jason Dell, Brad West, David Nugent, Hampton Giddens and Carlie Lastinger, Jr..   Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
