Mrs. Sandra Carene Sirmans Brant, age 76 of Pearson, Ga. passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga. following a extended illness. A native of Atkinson County, Mrs. Brant was born September 10, l940, daughter of Clemon Fielding and Mytrice Vining Sirmans. She lived most of her life in Atkinson County. She worked as a Registered Nurse for many years before retiring and moving to Ohio to help with her mother-in-law who was in poor health. She loved to read and spend time with her family. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Pearson Ward. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Stanley Brant, son Ray Brant, and two brothers Dale and Berkeley Sirmans. Survivors include: Daughter: Laura Martinez and husband Julio of Pearson, Ga. 4 Brothers: Steve Sirmans of Pearson, Ga. Stacy Sirmans and wife Elaine of Tallahassee, Fl. C.F. Sirmans and wife Elaine of Tallahassee, Fl. Maxie Sirmans and wife Dale of Pearson, Ga. Sister: Dawn Wright and husband Wendell of Pearson, Ga. Marie Giddens of Hahira, Ga. 3 Grandchildren: Stanley Bennett, Anjala Martinez, and Micala Martinez Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. Graveside memorial services for Mrs. Brant were held Sunday, January 15, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Antioch Cemetery with Bishop Steve Sirmans, Brother Stacy Sirmans, and Brother C.F. Sirmans officiating. The eulogy was given by Mrs. Brants brother, Stacy Sirmans. The interment followed in the Antioch Cemetery with the dedication of the grave by Bishop Steve Sirmans. Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
