Mrs. Elizabeth Corrine Lewis, age 77 of Pearson, Ga. passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Pruitt Health Nursing Home in Ocilla, Ga. following an extended illness. A native of Bacon County, Mrs. Lewis was born July 17, l939, daughter of Thomas Edward and Mildred Douglas Abercrombie. She had made her home in Coffee County for many years before moving to Pearson to live with her daughter. She was a homemaker and loved to sew. Her church membership was at the West Ward Street Church of God in Douglas, Ga.. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Wretha Dell Abercrombie, sister, Christine Nettles and former husband Verlyn Lewis Survivors include: Daughter: Deborah Courson and husband Ricky of Pearson, Ga. Son: Larry V. Lewis and wife Dawn of Jesup, Ga. Brother: Van Abercrombie of McRae, Ga. Step-Brother: Wendell Douglas of Baconton, Ga. 3 Grandchildren: Alexis Courson, Lauren Lewis, and Macy Lewis. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. Memorial services for Mrs. Lewis were held Sunday, February 05, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the West Ward Street Church of God in Douglas, Ga. with Rev. Britt Peavy, Rev. Leroy Spivey, and Mr. Rudolph Barrington officiating. Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements.
