Mrs. Helen Levon Spivey Giddens, age 73 of Pearson, Ga. passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 at her home in Pearson, Ga. after an extended illness. A native of Atkinson County, Mrs. Giddens was born December 10, l943, daughter of Cecil and Margie Kinnon Spivey. She worked at Cady Bag for many years and later as a CNA with Tendercare. After retiring she enjoyed being a homemaker, fishing and gardening. She was a member of Lang Country Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray D. Clements, Sr., a son, Tommy Clements and a sister, Frances Edwards. Survivors include: Husband: Joe Willie Giddens of Pearson, Ga. Son: Ray D. Clements of Pearson, Ga. Daughter: Kathy Gurley of Pearson, Ga. Brother: Henry Spivey and wife Margaret of Axson, Ga. Sister: Sue Lindsey of Unadilla, Ga. 3 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Giddens were held Monday, February 13, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Lang Country Church with Rev. Clyde Purvis officiating. Special musical selections included “Supper Time” and “Lay Down and Leave It” rendered by the Mathis Sisters and “Pray We’ll All Be Ready” rendered by John Lang. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was played by John Lang, pianist. The interment followed in the Arabia Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were: Jimmy Corbitt, James Corbitt, Chris Spivey, Cecil Spivey, Orlando Torres and Michael Royals. Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
