Mrs. Rita Jean Barnes, age 53 of Pearson, Ga. passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017 at her home in Pearson, Ga. following a short illness. A native of Jacksonville, Fl., Mrs. Barnes was born October 18, 1963, daughter of Olen Jr. and Vera Jean Cloud Arnold. She had made her home in Pearson, Ga. for most of her life. She was a homemaker and previously worked at Cady Bag and The Gopher Plantation. Mrs. Barnes enjoyed reading and also spending time with family and friends.. She was preceded in death by her daughter Brandi Branch. Survivors include: Daughter: Nicole Branch of Waycross, Ga. Special Friend: Bill Barlow of Pearson, Ga. Step-Daughter: Tracey Nelson of Douglas, Ga. 2 Sisters: Jenonia Arnold of Waycross, Ga. Sherri Arnold of Albany, Ga. 3 Brothers: Bobby Pickles of Jacksonville, Fl. Billy Pickles of Jacksonville, Fl. George Arnold of Virginia 3 Grandchildren, 7 Step-Grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. Graveside services for Mrs. Barnes were held Monday, February 20, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Sunnyside Cemetery with Rev. Edward Mathews officiating. Special music was “My Friend” and “Sissy Song” by cd music. The interment followed in the Sunnyside Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were: Sam Corley, Bobby Ray Arnold, Kyle Star, Kevin Arnold, Freddy Earl Johnson, and Donnie Lee Spivey. Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
