Mr. Earl Tedford, age 79 of Pearson, Ga. passed away Monday, June 26, 2017 at the Hospice House in Waycross, Ga. following an extended illness. A native of Marks, Ms., Mr. Tedford had made his home in Pearson for the past 30 years. He had previously worked for Douglas Asphalt as a truck driver. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran and of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Earl Tedford and step-daughter, Julia Hailey. Survivors include: Wife: Ruth W. Tedford of Pearson, Ga. Son: Danny Ray Tedford of Gulfport, Ms. 2 Step-Sons: Ricky Whaley of Pearson, Ga. Ronnie Whaley Picayune, Ms. Step-Daughter: Hellen Laglue and husband Carl of Westwego, La. 2 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Tedford were held Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Relihan Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Purvis officiating. Special musical selections were, “No Tears in Heaven”, “Wind Beneath My Wings” and “Go Rest High on That Mountain” presented by cd. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was by cd. The internment followed in the Holy Family Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were: Daniel Taft, Mathew Taft, Chris Veil, Lester Nugent, Austin Lewis and Ricky Hailey. Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
