Mrs. Michelle Mitchell, age 51 of Pearson, Ga. passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at her home in Pearson, Ga. following an extended illness. A native of Valdosta, Ga., Michelle was born September 13, l965, daughter of James Alvin and Barbara Hamby Kilcrease. After marrying Roland “Buddy” Mitchell they settled on the family farm near Kirkland, Ga.. She was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed singing. She worked in floral design for many years and enjoyed arts and crafts. She also loved her pets. She was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where she played the piano, sang and worked with the children whom she adored. Survivors include: Husband: Roland “Buddy” Mitchell of Pearson, Ga. Parents: Alvin and Barbara Kilcrease of Valdosta, Ga. Brother: Jay Kilcrease and wife Christy of Lake Park, Ga. Sister: Teresa Nalley and husband James of Lake Park, Ga. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Mitchell were held Saturday, July 08, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Sim Youngblood, Rev. Buddy Jordon, and Rev. Michael Bennett officiating. Special music selections were, “Whisper Prayer” rendered by Donna Jordon accompanying by cd, “Do You Know How it Feels” rendered by Donna and Buddy Jordon with Donna accompanying at the piano, “The Things You Learn From Mom and Dad” and “In His Arms I’m Not Afraid” were rendered by Sweetwater Creek. The interment followed in Antioch Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were: James Gore, Travis Mizell, Casey Wright, Lee Pittman, Derrell Albritton and Shaughn Odum.
