Mary Kay Tyson

Mrs. Mary Kay Tyson, age 53, of Surrency, Ga. passed away Sunday, November 05, 2017.   A native of Douglas, Ga., Mrs. Tyson was born June 3, l964, daughter of Archie and Mary Alice McKinnon Campbell. She worked for many years as an accountant. Her hobbies included photography, writing, coloring, arts and crafts. She also enjoyed singing and riding horses. Her family was very important to her, especially her grandchildren whom she adored. She attended the Pearson Church of God of Prophecy.   Survivors include:   Daughter: Jessica LeAnn Rushing of Surrency, Ga.   Son: Brandon Carroll Cumbass of St. Simons Island, Ga.   Parents: Archie and Mary Alice McKinnon Campbell of Douglas, Ga.   2 Step-Children: Tyler Boyken Tyson of Brunswick, Ga.                            Leslie Rae Menden-Tyson of Darien, Ga.   Brother: Archie Campbell, Jr. and wife Joy of Hortense, Ga.   2 Sisters: Jennifer Johnson and husband Mike of Douglas, Ga.                Mirian Atkinson and husband Terry of Hazlehurst, Ga.   3 Grandchildren: Baliegh Grace Rushing, Matthew Noah Rushing, and Katelyn Hope Rushing.   Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.   Funeral services for Mrs. Tyson were held at 3:00 P. M. Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. with Rev. Hardy Crosby officiating. The eulogy was given by her son, Brandon Cumbass. Special musical selections included “Gathering Flowers for the Masters Bouquet” and “I Won’t Have to Worry Anymore” rendered by soloist Allen Jewell with CD Accompaniment. “Simple Man” was rendered by Brandon Cumbass and Tyler Tyson with Brandon accompanying on the guitar. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was by cd. The interment followed in Sunnyside Cemetery.   Serving as active pallbearers were: Brandon Cumbass, Tyler Tyson, J. R. Campbell, Greg Carter, Jason Rushing and Darren Cooper.   Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
