Mr. Clifton Parker Nugent, age 91 of Pearson, Ga. passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at his home in Pearson, Ga. following an extended illness. A native of Willacoochee, Ga., Mr. Nugent was born October 8, l926, son of Clifton and Nettie Smith Nugent. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and University of Georgia Pharmacy School. He owned and operated Morris Drugs in Pearson for many years and after selling his drugstore, he continued to be a substitute pharmacist for many years, totaling 60 years as a pharmacist. He was a member of Satilla Lodge F&AM #l63 and a member of American legion Post #l73. He also served on the Pearson City Council for many years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Merchant Marine during the Korean Conflict. Being a graduate of the University of Georgia, he was an avid Bulldog fan. His church membership was at the Pearson United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Parker Nugent. Survivors include: Wife: Dorothy Nugent of Pearson, Ga. Daughter: Debbie Nugent Wiles and husband Rob of Brunswick, Ga. Grandson: Parker Clifton Wiles of Brunswick, Ga. Graveside services for Mr. Nugent were held Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. at Satilla Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Evelyn Duval officiating. The interment followed in Satilla Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Masonic Graveside Rites. Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
