Henry Nugent

Mr. Henry Nugent, age 79, of Kirkland, Ga. passed away Tuesday, January 02, 2018 at his home in Kirkland, Ga. following a short illness.    A native of Atkinson County, Mr. Nugent was born April 10, l938, son of Willie and Mary Ann Flanders Nugent. He worked at the Georgia Pacific Mill in Pearson and later at Langboard Inc. in Willacoochee, Ga. for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Kirkland United Methodist Church. Survivors include: Sister: Thelma Darley of Kirkland, Ga.   Brother: Talmadge Nugent of Waycross, Ga.   Niece: Glenda Carver of Douglas, Ga.  Several other nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Nugent were held Friday, January 05, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the Kirkland United Methodist Church in Kirkland, Ga. with Rev. Elvis East officiating. Special music included “Amazing Grace” rendered by the attending congregation with Lila Deems accompanying at the piano. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was by Lila Deems, pianist. The interment followed in the Holy Family Cemetery.   Serving as active pallbearers were: Hampton Giddens, Phil Liles, James Gore, Jr. Chris Branch, David Nugent and Alvin Carver, Jr.    Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
